Spin the spindle and catch it between thumb and forefinger to hold it vertical as it spins. When twist has built up, draft out from fiber supply, releasing additional fiber and tugging gently to work over thick spots. Spin again to add more twist to strengthen the yarn, and draft again. Spin again before winding on.
